Going direct means giving up control
Every DSP is a separate integration, a separate rate card, and a separate support queue. Once the order leaves the restaurant, you get a generic tracking page, manual refund claims, and no visibility.
One layer over every provider
Cartwheel sits between your POS and dozens of third-party fleets. Orders route to the best provider, customers track on a branded page, and refunds for failed deliveries file automatically.
Your brand, protected
Your brand doesn't stop at the door.
When customers order directly from you, the post-order experience should match. Without Cartwheel, a third-party delivery hands them a generic tracking page with no sign of your brand.
Branded tracking page with your logo
Promo banners that increase repeat orders
Full control over what customers see
Every delivery ends with a review prompt
Feedback reaches your team in real time
Issues surface while you can still fix them
Full visibility
Every third-party driver, on your map.
Most operators lose sight of an order the moment it's handed to a third party. Cartwheel tracks DSP deliveries in the same live view as everything else.
See every active delivery on a single live map
Know when a driver is approaching, so the order is ready on time
Real-time driver location, from dispatch to doorstep
Unified tracking across every DSP

Refund management
Late or never delivered? The claim is already filed.
When a third-party provider delays, cancels, or fails to deliver, Cartwheel automatically files the refund claim against the provider's refund matrix. DSPs report the outcome back, so status and amount land in your dashboard without an email thread.
Automatic refunds
Late and canceled deliveries are filed for you, under current DoorDash and Uber policy.
Manual refunds
Raise a refund against any DSP, on any order, at any time.
Refund status New
DoorDash Drive and Uber Direct report outcomes back to your dashboard, with the approved amount attached to the order.
Large order fulfillment
Big catering orders don't go out on a bike.
Set a dispatch rule by order value or item count, and automatically route large orders to catering-capable fleets. A 50-sandwich order gets a vehicle that fits it.
You set the order value or size that triggers catering-fleet dispatch.
FAQ
Frequently
asked questions
What is third-party delivery management?
It is the software layer between your ordering channels and outside delivery fleets. Cartwheel receives the order from your POS or ordering platform, picks the provider that can deliver it best on price and pickup ETA, tracks the driver to the door, and files refunds when a delivery goes wrong.
Which third-party delivery providers does Cartwheel work with?
Uber Direct, DoorDash Drive, Grubhub, Skipcart, and 50+ local and regional providers, including catering-capable fleets and DoorDash Large Order Fulfillment. One integration connects all of them.
Do I need my own drivers to use Cartwheel?
No. You can run fully third-party from day one. If you add in-house drivers later, the same rules engine starts splitting orders between your fleet and third-party providers without changing systems.
How does Cartwheel decide which provider gets an order?
For every order Cartwheel compares live price and pickup ETA across every connected provider and commits to the best one in about 0.4 seconds. You set whether best means cheapest, fastest, or a balance, and you can pin preferred providers by location.
Are third-party rates through Cartwheel lower than going direct?
Up to 27% lower. Rates are pre-negotiated across the network through aggregated client volume, so a single location gets pricing normally reserved for large chains.
What happens when a third-party delivery is late or never arrives?
Cartwheel files the refund claim automatically against a refund matrix you set, and reports the affected orders and customers. Brands recover an average of $0.29 per third-party order without anyone chasing a support queue.
Can customers still track the order on my brand?
Yes. Every delivery, including third-party ones, ends on a tracking page carrying your logo, your colors, and your promotions, followed by a review prompt that reaches your team in real time.
Can large catering orders go to third-party fleets?
Yes. Set a dispatch rule by order value or item count and large orders route to catering-capable fleets, including DoorDash Large Order Fulfillment and 50+ catering providers, so a 50-sandwich order gets a vehicle that fits it.
